WHAT WE’RE ABOUT

In 2018, three innovative guys from Detroit were discussing the great recording legacy of Helios Audio products and the incredible discography that was created on these consoles back in the 1970s and 1980s. They shared the same vision and passion for remaking these legendary devices and bringing them back to prominence, so people could once again enjoy the richness and warmth of tone which Helios has become known for.

Now that our vision has been fully realized, we are pleased to share this rich Helios offering with musicians and producers everywhere. As precision craftsmen, we stayed true to the original specs, as created by Dick Swettenham (founder of Helios), and have made only minor modifications to better adapt for modern recording parameters. These are pure analog greatness and they will make your mixes stand out above the crowd.

Helios Channel
H2 Audio could not be more excited about the release of The Helios Channel. With the rise of home recording and hybrid recording methods we have created The Helios Channel, featuring the classic 0011 mic pre/EQ and the H760 compressor limiter, all in a rugged steel 2U 19” rack to give you the ultimate classic recording chain. The Helios channel also features the Acme Audio Motown DI’s custom input transformer for its DI input. This transformer is electronically switched directly to the 0011’s mic-in connector when activated by a selector switch on the front panel. Also featured is 48V phantom power, output fader control and Link/Ind switch which allows The Helios Channel to be operated as a channel strip or as independent units complete with separate input and output connectors on the rear of the unit. The Helios Channel is powered by the same external PSU as the 0011, and 8-channel rack and up to 4 units can be used off of one supply.

0011/Stereo 2-Channel Mic Pre/EQ
This is a 2U 19” rack stereo pair of 0011s. All features of the 0011 included in a rugged steel constructed rack.

0011 Mic Pre and 3-Band EQ
The original channel module from so many iconic studio recordings of the past. This module features the original Helios 2128 preamp circuit with 70dB of gain in 5dB increments. 20dB pad, Lustraphone input transformer. A balanced line in section is also featured. Inductor based LF/MF EQ section with selectable LF and MF and fixed 10Khz HF controls. Also included: Phase control, EQ bypass and selectable High Pass filter with original 40hz and 80hz filter points. The H2 Audio 0011 has an added output amplifier with output transformer, all of original Helios design, allowing the H2 Audio 0011 to drive a 600 ohm load up to 25dB before clipping (owners of classic Helios modules will agree that this was a major issue when trying to use a classic Helios in a custom rack). 48V phantom power is supplied by switch on the H2 Audio 8 channel rack.

H760 FET Comp/Limiter
Undoubtedly one of the best-kept secrets in recording, the F760 designed by AD&R and licensed by Helios is one of the most classic FET comp/limiters ever made. Sold as modules fitted into classic Helios desks and most famously heard on Led Zeppelin’s ‘When The Levee Breaks’ drum recording. A very easy-to-use unit with fixed threshold and 5 pre-selected ratios, selectable attack and release times and separate Limiter threshold. The H760 will allow the user quick adjustment of dynamic control of any audio program and maintain the classic sound of a British FET compressor/limiter.

2128 “Helios” Mic Preamp
The 2128 is the mic preamp circuit from the 0011 in a 500 Series package. It features the same quality preamp with 70 db of gain, 20 db pad, phase control, 48V phantom power and selectable high pass filter. Also added is a custom Lustraphone input transformer, output amp section with transformer out and output fader.

5011 “Helios” 3-Band EQ
The 5011 is the EQ section from the 0011 in a 500 Series package. Featuring an electronically balanced input and transformer balanced output with amp circuit, and the exact same EQ circuit as the 0011.
